Pumpkin Patch
We spent Saturday at a local Pumpkin Patch. The kids had so much fun! They both loved the rip cord the best!! After enjoying all the attractions, we took a hayride out to the fields to pick our pumpkins. The rule was that you had to be able to lift your pumpkin, so don't pick one too heavy. Thanks to Miss Stubborn (I CAN lift it!!), we had to modify that rule to carrying your pumpkin 20 feet. Eventually, she chose an appropriate pumpkin.

Who am I?
Michael loves to play a game he invented called "Who am I?" To play the game, one person gives clues, then another tries to guess who they are. So, you might say, "I like to grow things and I have a barn." Then the other person would guess "Are you a farmer?" Pretty simple, right? A few days ago, Michael gave me these clues:
Michael: I'm really, really handsome and awesome.
Me: Um, is it ...you??
Michael: YES!! How did you know!?!?!?!
Me: Well, those were some pretty good clues.

Katie Reaches the Top!!
After a few visits to the rock climbing wall, Katie has reached the top of the wall!!! For reference, the wall is about 30 feet high! There are 7 routes kids can take up the wall. Katie has mastered one route and can get about 4 feet from the top on her second route.
Michael can get about as high as i can reach :) He mostly enjoys the trip down

Scientific Progress
The chitter-chatter of little voices greeted me as I climbed the stairs for bed last night. It's 10:30; what could they be up to this time? I tip-toe quietly to Katie's door. Silence is key when investigating night-time antics. The sound of parental footsteps makes them scatter like roaches when the light's turned on. I discover Katie and Michael sitting on the floor of their bathroom, surrounded by 25-30 small dixie cups filled with various odd-colored substances. There's water all over the floor. And toothpaste. And shampoo. Foaming hand soap. Liquid bath soap. Every toiletry at their disposal is on the floor and in these cups. "We're playing Scientist," Katie announces cheerfully. "What???" "We're playing Scientist" she repeats, a little slower, for my benefit. "Look at this mess, Katie!!!!" "Mooooom. We. Are. Playing. Scientist." She's speaking slowly and patiently, with just a hint of irritation in her voice. I know this tone. I've used it myself. A lot. To Katie, it is clear that my problem with the situation is that I don't understand the importance of her work. Because someday NASA may call to say that the space shuttle is disabled and all they have to repair it is some Disney Princess toothpaste, Coconut Monkey shampoo and three q-tips. Katie will whip up a solution McGuyver style and the astronauts will be saved. "Both of you, into bed and you are cleaning this up in the morning!" "Mooooooooooooom!!!" "Now!"

First Post
Inspired by my good friend Stacy Pruett, I've decided to start a blog for the Becher Family. Most of the posts will probably be about the twins, since they provide a lot of interesting stories.
